On your path to football success, you will meet many people who will judge you, doubt your abilities, or even openly criticize you. That is normal. History shows that even the best players in the world started from zero – often unnoticed, underestimated, and without the support of the crowd.
What truly matters is that YOU BELIEVE. Your belief in yourself gives you the strength to work hard every single day, even without applause or recognition. The second foundation is YOUR CLOSEST PEOPLE – those who truly know your value and don’t need proof on the pitch to believe in you.
Several years ago, Ousmane Dembélé uploaded a new profile picture on Facebook. Almost no one paid attention to it. No likes, no comments – except one. It was written by his friend Moustapha Diatta.
And it was that same friend who later appeared alongside Dembélé at the Ballon d’Or ceremony. It was to him that the Frenchman dedicated his words on stage:
“This is for you, since we were 4–5 years old, we lived and did everything together. You always supported me. You always told me that one day I would be the best in the world. We will always be together.”
This shows a simple truth – you don’t need hundreds of people believing in you. You don’t have to please everyone, you don’t need fans from the very beginning. All you need is your own belief and the support of those few who are truly with you.
DON’T LOOK AT OTHERS. Your career depends on your work, determination, and consistency. If you believe in yourself and your closest ones do too, the rest of the world will eventually notice.
