Let your first thought when you wake up be "
What can I do today and what work to do to become at least a slightly better player than I was be yesterday!

Those of you who are interested in the English Premier League on a daily basis probably know Jarrod Bowen, the West Ham United player.

Well, a player who today at the age of 25 is one of the best wingers in England at the age of 16 was rejected even by clubs from the 6th level of the competition.

When Jarrod, aged 16, kept hearing that he was unfit for a professional footballer and wanted to leave, his father stopped him and told him that instead of worrying that he was not playing for a good club yet, he should only focus on training and what he has to do every day to develop his skills and as he develops and becomes a better player, clubs will be soliciting him to join.

It was exactly as my father said.

Jarrod has joined the 5th league club Hereford United.

Unfortunately Hereford United soon had to close the junior team in which Bowen played.

Instead of breaking down, Jarrod, on the advice of his father, simply started training with the first team even though he had no chance of playing due to his very young age.

Training with experienced players allowed him to develop very quickly and, to everyone's surprise, Bowen started playing in the first squad at the age of 17.

When Hereford United declared bankruptcy in 2014, Jarrod had no problem, because already then a dozen clubs wanted him to sign a contract with them.

Today Bowen is close to playing for the England national team and when journalists ask him how he managed to survive these difficult moments when he thought of giving up his career as a footballer, he replies: All I had to do then was grit my teeth and focus only on what I had influence on, i.e. training and my football development!

You, too, if you really want to be a footballer, you can't complain and give up and all you have to do is fully focus on training every day to be able to develop!
