Every player has weaknesses.
The problem isn't having them.
The problem is training for months without knowing which weaknesses are actually limiting your game.
If you want to reach a higher level, identify them and attack them systematically.
-
WATCH YOUR FULL MATCH
Forget your highlights.
Watch an entire match and write down every repeated mistake.
Poor first touch?
Lost duels?
Bad positioning?
Weak-foot problems?
Look for patterns, not one bad action.
-
ASK FOR HONEST FEEDBACK
Ask your coach:
"What are the three things I need to improve most?"
Don't defend yourself.
Write down the answer.
Compare it with what you noticed on video.
-
FIND THE WEAKNESS THAT COSTS YOU MOST
You cannot fix everything at once.
Choose the weakness that has the biggest impact on your performance.
If you lose possession because you cannot receive under pressure, improving fancy dribbling shouldn't be your priority.
-
MEASURE YOUR STARTING LEVEL
Create a simple test related to the weakness.
Passing accuracy: 50 attempts.
Weak foot: 30 passes into a target.
Speed: timed 10–20 metre sprint.
Finishing: 30 shots from specific positions.
Record the result.
Now you have something to beat.
-
BUILD YOUR TRAINING AROUND IT
Spend 15–20 focused minutes on that weakness several times per week when appropriate for your overall training load.
Don't just repeat.
Increase difficulty.
Less space.
Higher speed.
More pressure.
Fewer touches.
Make improvement measurable.
-
FORCE YOURSELF TO USE IT IN TRAINING
Individual exercises aren't enough.
If you're improving your weak foot, USE IT during team training.
If you're working on scanning, consciously scan before receiving.
If you're improving 1v1 defending, challenge strong attackers.
Transfer the skill into real football situations.
-
TEST YOURSELF AGAIN
After 6–8 weeks, repeat exactly the same test.
Then watch another full match.
Did your numbers improve?
More importantly:
Did your MATCH PERFORMANCE improve?
If yes, continue or choose your next weakness.
If not, change the training method.
FINAL MESSAGE
Use this simple system:
WATCH → IDENTIFY → MEASURE → TRAIN → APPLY → TEST.
Don't randomly train everything.
Find what is actually holding you back.
Attack one important weakness for several weeks.
Measure the result.
Then move to the next one.
Your weaknesses don't disappear because you hide them.
They disappear when you work on them correctly and consistently.
