If you think that to become a footballer of the highest level you need luxurious conditions for training, see the photo above it shows the house where Alphonso Davies, the star of Bayern and the Canadian national team, lived in the first years of his life.
Alphonso's parents and their children fled Liberia to Ghana to save themselves from the war, and they had to live in such a house, even without water.
Then they miraculously managed to get to Canada as part of an aid program for refugees.
In Canada, they live in Edmonton, a place where most of the year is arctic frost, and the snow cover makes it practically impossible to play football.
Alphonso, while in Canada, had to help hard-working parents by caring for their siblings most of the time.
Every day after his parents returned from work, he had some free time due to the winter weather, when he could not play football, then he practiced various sports, athletics, football and hockey.
As he says today, these adversities and the fact that instead of training only football he trained all sports helped him train his body in many respects.
However, at the age of 15, he realized that football was his way and began to train very hard, devoting every free moment to training.
This hard work and stubbornness allowed him to get into the amateur first
Edmonton Strikers and then to reserves playing for MLS Vancouver Whitecaps Fc.
Today everyone knows Davies because he managed to get to the top of world football by winning the Champions League.
