Yesterday, at the age of 34, the outstanding goalkeeper of Juventus, Roma, Arsenal and the Polish national team Wojciech Szczęsny ended his career!
For most people this was a shock because he was the best goalkeeper in the Italian Serie A. The Pole is only 34 years old and could easily play at the highest level for a few more years!
You could say that Wojtek ended his career on his own terms, just as he wanted!
However, in order for him to have such a beautiful career which ended in such style, he had to make sacrifices at the beginning!
Szczęsny left for London to Arsenal when he was 16 and he was completely alone there!
As he recalls years later, he missed his family a lot and thought about giving up many times!
The training was very hard, the pressure was enormous and at the beginning of his career at Arsenal he earned practically no money!
The first two years were incredibly tough for him and he says that if he had given up then he probably wouldn't have become a professional footballer!
The beginnings are always incredibly difficult and require a lot of work, and the lack of a guarantee of success raises many doubts, but as you can see from Szczęsny's example, it is worth giving it your all at the beginning and surviving it to have a beautiful life!
If it's hard for you right now, remember that in football you first have to sacrifice and give it your all so that you can then be successful and have everything you dream of! NEVER GIVE UP!
