Motivation Monday is a series of articles that largely aims to prove to footballers who are at the beginning of their career path that any failures and negative opinions of people who tell them that they lack talent if you are ready to sacrifice everything for football and work hard usually do not matter. !
Another proof that these words are 100% true and not just motivational talk is Simon Kiaer who is currently one of the best players who perform at EURO2020 and reached the semi-finals with his team.
Simon Kiaer started his career very late, because at the age of 15 he was just trying to get into various academies in Denmark.
Unfortunately, he was always rejected.
He has been told that his skills are too low and he is 15 years old and has no chance of catching up.
FC Midtjylland, a club that was just building an academy at that time and had to choose from players that nobody in Denmark wanted anymore, also rejected Simon.
Simon, however, did not give up and went to the club many times for tests, asking what he needed to improve to get to the club, and then he trained for several hours every day.
As Simon's father was a supplier of sports equipment to FC Midtjylland and the club did not want to lose him, the club took Kiaer into the team to complete the team as there were no other players willing.
When Simon got the chance, he trained several hours a day outside of training at the club, and after a while it turned out that he was not only of high level to play for the academy, but also made his first-team debut for FC Midtjylland.
You already know the rest of the story!
Therefore, if you have a goal to become a professional footballer, never let the opinion of other people about you destroy your dream!
But also consider feedback to know what you need to improve to grow!
