Road to success: conversation with Antonio Franco #LearnFromTheBest32

Yesterday we talked with a Portuguese trainer and training coordinator  at Chinese football academies, our interlocutor was Antonio Franco.

I wonder why we were looking
a person working in China? The answer is simple. China is one of the fastest-growing economic countries and plans to join the world's leading football powers. To this end, they employ top-class specialists in training.

At the beginning we asked Antonio if it is worth training individually and what to focus on the most.

Antonio approached the conversation very professionally and pointed out that football is a team sport in which contacts with colleagues are needed, learning tactical wisdom, contact with the opponent etc. but many aspects can be improved individually such as fitness, ball control, technique, but also drew attention to important aspect which is injury prevention training.   Asking what the right individual training time is, the answer boiled down to the fact that it depends on the mentality and willingness of the player to succeed.

Then we asked our interlocutor what aspects of individual training should particularly focus on the athlete during an epidemic when training at home but also on a daily basis when you can freely go outside.

Antonio replied that individual training is a matter that should improve the player's weaknesses so that he can make progress.
In addition, it is very important to work on football technique and motor preparation.
Antonio points out that the expected results will be individual training ONLY and only in conjunction with team training.
All this works similarly now both during an epidemic and when everything returns to normal.
Our expert noted that during this difficult time you should not lose the right motivation because it is very important!

Finally, we asked what is important outside of training to be successful and what scouts pay attention to when looking for talented players

The answer, as usual, was valuable and original because from his perspective outside of training hard work counts, the desire to be better every day, using every moment to be better but also the desire to listen to advice from other people and humble work because the road to success in football is never easy.

And what do the scouts pay attention to?
First of all, intelligence in the game, football technique, and that the player was unconventional and different than everyone else on the pitch so that he could stand out by showing his strengths.
Finally, Antonio added that football is played more with the mind than with the feet and this is very important.

We are very grateful for your time and valuable comments. This conversation confirms our belief that our portal is going in the right direction, giving you many opportunities for development and promotion to professional football!
Work and never give up and the day of success will come for you!
