FROM PLAYING IN THE 9TH ENGLISH LEAGUE TO THE NATIONAL TEAM #MOTIVATIONMONDAY225

Jacob Mendy is another example of how important an element of a football career is steadfastness to not give up, no matter how hard it is!

Mendy made his debut for the Gambia national team in 2023 as a 27-year-old

Jackob left Gambia for Spain when he was 6 years old.
He was never considered a great talent and, despite a stint in Atletico Madrid's junior teams, he always played in the lower leagues.

As soon as he could, he worked to help his parents support themselves and to have money for his needs.

While playing in the lower leagues, he always trained hard and believed that his time would come.
When he was 21, his family moved to England and Jacob had to start from the lowest leagues again!
However, he didn't get discouraged about it, he just worked hard and, step by step, climbed higher and higher!

To support himself outside of training, he worked at a dumpster sorting garbage.

However, this hard work and club training did not stop him from training individually!

Step by step he moved forward!
The turning point was joining the 4th league English club Wrexham.

This allowed him to get noticed and be called up to the Gambian national team.
As Jackob himself says, playing for GAMBIA is a dream come true.

He also says that his story may be proof that it is worth working hard and not giving up, because eventually the time will come to pay off.
Therefore, regardless of where your career is currently, keep fighting and never give up!
Let each daily training be the next step to your success!
