Record transfer of a player from the Polish Ekstraklasa. Lech Poznań player Jakub Moder went to Brighton & Hove Albion F.C for EUR 11 million.
The 21-year-old central midfielder was still practically the entire last season as a substitute because he was considered a very good player with many advantages, but he was not included in the basic squad because the coaches claimed that Moder was very weak in the defensive game.
The young Pole showed that he not only has very great football skills, but is also mentally ready to play at a high level because when he heard from the coaches that he was weak in the defense game, he decided to go to work to improve this element and become very good at it.
In addition to training in the club, he decided to work individually. He worked on physical preparation to improve strength, speed and endurance. In addition, he watched the best players in the world in his position to see how he should act defensively. He consulted the coaches all the time, asking what he still had to work on.
This hard work began to pay off because in the second half of last season, Jakub Moder won a place in the basic squad of Lech Poznań and it turned out that he is one of the best players in this position in the entire Ekstraklasa. Moder was also called up to the national team.
Although Lech was not determined to sell his player, his very good game resulted in a record offer from the Premier League club and a transfer was made.
