10 STEPS TO FIND OUT WHAT IS REALLY STOPPING YOU FROM REACHING THE NEXT LEVEL

Many players believe they know why they haven't reached a higher level.

"The coach doesn't like me."

"I don't have an agent."

"Nobody watches my league."

Maybe.

But before blaming your environment, find the real problem.

Here are 10 steps to diagnose your football career honestly.

  1. WATCH YOUR FULL MATCH

Not highlights.

Watch an entire recent match and focus only on yourself.

Write down every good action, mistake and moment when you could have done more.

Reality is more useful than opinion.

  1. IDENTIFY YOUR BIGGEST TECHNICAL WEAKNESS

First touch?

Weak foot?

Passing?

Finishing?

Crossing?

Don't choose five things.

Find the one technical weakness that hurts your game most.

  1. CHECK YOUR PHYSICAL LEVEL

Compare yourself with the best players you face.

Are you fast enough?

Strong enough?

Explosive enough?

Can you maintain intensity for the entire match?

If your body cannot handle the next level, technique alone may not be enough.

  1. ANALYSE YOUR DECISIONS

Sometimes the problem isn't technique.

You receive too slowly.

Hold the ball too long.

Don't scan.

Choose the wrong pass.

Watch your match again and ask:

Could I have made this decision earlier?

  1. STUDY YOUR GAME WITHOUT THE BALL

This is where many talented players fail.

Watch your positioning.

Movement.

Pressing.

Defensive reactions.

Support runs.

A coach evaluates what you do during the entire match — not only when you have the ball.

  1. ASK SOMEONE WHO WILL TELL YOU THE TRUTH

Ask a coach or experienced football person:

"What are the three biggest things stopping me from playing higher?"

Don't argue with the answer.

Listen.

You need honesty, not compliments.

  1. CHECK WHETHER YOU ACTUALLY DOMINATE YOUR CURRENT LEVEL

Before saying you deserve a better league, prove you are exceptional in your current one.

Are you consistently one of the best players?

Do you influence matches?

Would opponents remember you?

If not, your priority may still be development.

  1. CHECK YOUR DAILY HABITS

Sometimes the problem happens away from the pitch.

Poor sleep.

Bad recovery.

Random training.

No individual work.

Too much distraction.

Your career is influenced by what you do between training sessions.

  1. CHECK WHETHER YOUR PROBLEM IS EXPOSURE

Maybe your football level really isn't the problem.

Do you have full-match footage?

Good highlights?

A professional football CV?

Are you contacting realistic clubs?

If nobody can see you, nobody can recruit you.

  1. CHOOSE ONE PROBLEM AND ATTACK IT

Now you should have evidence.

Choose the biggest obstacle.

Create an 8-week plan around it.

Train.

Measure.

Record.

Analyse again.

Then compare yourself with the player you were eight weeks earlier.

FINAL MESSAGE

Stop asking:

"Why am I not playing higher?"

Investigate it.

Maybe you need better technique.

Maybe more speed.

Better decisions.

Better habits.

More match experience.

Or maybe you really are ready — but nobody knows you exist.

You cannot solve a problem until you identify it.

Find the biggest thing standing between you and the next level.

Then spend the next eight weeks attacking it.

Don't guess what is stopping your career.

FIND IT.

FIX IT.

MOVE FORWARD.
